Our Approach

The heart of A Tipping Point will be a model project where pre-selected businesses will co-locate inside a 25,000 square foot building in New Haven, CT to explore and deepen their natural synergies and partnerships in pursuit of becoming a zero-waste facility. What we learn from the model project will be used to create educational material, tools for practitioners, and new ideas to be incubated. All of this will be open-sourced and shared with "sister projects" in order to accelerate the pollination or replication of this or similar models elsewhere. The ecosystem in New Haven will expand outwards from this epicenter, deepening the understanding of and commitment to a circular, regenerative economy.

The Model Project  -  New Haven, CT

Imagine a brewery, a coffee roaster, and a mushroom farm all in one building. If you're anything like us, that sounds like a dream hangout. As it turns out, it is also a great place to start building a circular business ecosystem by exploring new ways to deepen the natural synergies between the three businesses and the community. ATP will deploy research, design, and crowd-sourced innovation to eliminate waste from this system and help our city and our environment thrive. That's what we're working on. Want to get involved?
